Set-up

Set-up is the gathering of adjustments necessary to
make sure your instrument has the best balance between sound and
tone.
N.B. Seeing the great number of adjustments and stylistic
necessities, I always advise every musician to learn the few techniques
necessary so you can perform a personalized set-up for your instrument:
1)
Clean body and neck
2)
Check and tighten the screws, mechanics, etc.
3)
Choose the size of the chords and assemble
4)
Check and adjust the truss road to determine the "relief"
and take consequent action
5) Check and adjust where the chords attach on the tuning machines
6) Check the adhesion of the archtop bridge to the body and eventual
leveling (hollowbody's)
7)
Adjust the height of the chords on the bridge and their curvature
in respect to the fretboard
8)
Check circuit and height/inclination of the pick-ups
9)
Intonation
10)
Final sound check
