This is the "toy" that revolutionized all musical instruments.

Even though it has bettered over the years, and still today, it follows the principles experimented by Mr. Rickembaker, further studied by Mr. Fender and completed by Gibson: "the disturbance of a magnetic field by metallic chords". The oscillation produced by the chords is transferred to a bobbin from a "permanent magnet" which becomes the protagonist of the voice of the pick-up itself! The volume and tone circuits follow the pick-ups, while the simplicity and realization often depend on the efficiency of the instrument itself.
